Langevin v. Air Canada

Mr. Langevin filed a complaint against his former employer, Air Canada, with the Canadian Human Rights Commission (the Commission). The Commission declined to deal with the complaint, and Mr. Langevin failed to file an application for judicial review within the specified time. He then applied to the Federal Court for an extension of time, which was dismissed. Mr. Langevin sought reconsideration of the dismissal, but his motion was also dismissed. In his appeal, Mr. Langevin raised various issues related to his employment, termination, complaint against his union, and his inability to obtain legal counsel. However, the appellate court determined that it did not have the power to address those issues and could only consider whether there was an error in denying the motion for reconsideration. The court found that Mr. Langevin did not establish any error by the Federal Court judge and, therefore, dismissed the appeal.
