Pacific Granite Manufacturing Ltd. v Jacob Bros. Construction Inc.
Jacob Bros. Construction Inc. and Pacific Granite Manufacturing Ltd. disputed payment for restoration work on Vancouver Art Gallery. Pacific Granite claimed they had completed the work and demanded payment. Jacob Bros. argued that there was a breach of contract terms and sought damages. The court found that Pacific Granite did not breach the contract and held Jacob Bros. liable for the amount owed, which was $124,525.27. The counterclaim by Jacob Bros. was dismissed. The parties had the option to submit requests on interest and costs within 30 days if they were unable to reach an agreement.
