(NYSE: GMS), a prominent North American specialty building products distributor, announced an agreement to acquire Yvon Building Supply Inc., Yvon Insulation Corporation, Laminated Glass Technologies, Inc., and Right Fit Foam Insulation Ltd. This acquisition aims to enhance GMS Canada's services and product offerings in Ontario.

Paul Green, President of GMS Canada, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, highlighting Yvon's decade-long service to Ontario's building industry and its alignment with GMS's core values. The transaction is anticipated to boost GMS Canada's in-market service capabilities, supporting its expanding customer base in southern Ontario.

Tom Scott, President of Yvon, noted the company's growth over 13 years, attributing success to dedicated staff and a supportive customer base. He expressed confidence in the future with GMS, citing shared values and growth opportunities.

Yvon, originating from a garage operation, has expanded to multiple Ontario locations, offering products such as drywall, insulation, steel, ceilings, wood flooring, and construction tools. Post-transaction, Tom Scott and his senior leadership team will continue to lead Yvon, integrating with GMS's Canadian service brands while retaining the Yvon brand.
