XPS Technologies acquired by Descartes for up to $177 million

Descartes Systems Group, a global leader in logistics for commerce, acquired XPS Technologies, a key provider of ecommerce multi-carrier parcel shipping solutions, for an up-front consideration of approximately CA$177 million. Payments for these targets are anticipated in fiscal 2024 and 2025. XPS, known for its cloud-based shipping solutions catering to a range of ecommerce shippers, offers a platform that streamlines the ecommerce supply chain, reduces transportation costs, and integrates with leading ecommerce marketplaces and supply chain platforms. The acquisition further solidifies Descartes' commitment to the ecommerce market, adding advanced parcel shipping technology and a customer base of over 10,000. Andrew Roszko, EVP Commercial Operations at Descartes, emphasized the importance of scale in serving the ecommerce sector and noted the added value XPS brings in domain expertise and customer community. Edward J. Ryan, CEO of Descartes, highlighted the synergy with recent investments in ecommerce fulfilment and shipping. XPS, headquartered in Utah, now joins the Descartes community, enhancing the company’s ability to manage both domestic and international ecommerce shipments and support the growth of small and medium ecommerce retailers.
