De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited has finalized a landmark deal to sell a fleet of new DHC water bombers to six European Union member states, marking one of the largest export agreements in the company’s history. The transaction, valued at approximately C$1 billion, is backed by up to C$750 million in financial guarantees from Export Development Canada (EDC). The deal supports both domestic aerospace manufacturing and Canada’s international trade ambitions under the CETA framework. The water bombers will enhance Europe’s wildfire response capabilities amid growing climate challenges, and the sale reinforces De Havilland’s role as a leading supplier of specialized aircraft to global markets.
