On May 12, 2025, Pelican Intl Inc., a newly formed entity, announced the acquisition of the assets (excluding GSI Outdoors) of Pelican International Inc. and Confluence Outdoor Inc. The acquisition was carried out through a court-approved Sale and Investment Solicitation Process (SISP) under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) in Canada and Chapter 15 in the United States. The transaction was led by Danick Lavoie, former President and CEO of Pelican, along with former executives Frederic Guay and Guy Prenevost, and supported by a group of private investors including Vincent Chiara, Marc Varadi, Luc Sabbatini, and Charles Malo.
The newly formed Pelican Intl Inc. will integrate the operations of Confluence Outdoor Inc., which will now be known as Pelican Intl USA Inc. This consolidation aims to unify the North American operations under one brand, streamlining business processes with large retailers and independent dealers.
Legal representation for the acquisition was provided by Cain Lamarre, while Woods LLP served as legal counsel for the CCAA proceedings.
