On April 16, 2024, Interac Corp. announced that it had acquired the exclusive Canadian rights to use the engagement platform developed by Toronto-based Vouchr Ltd. This platform enables users to send and receive personalized multimedia notifications alongside money transfers. Interac plans to integrate this technology into its e-Transfer service, allowing Canadians to enhance their transactions with features like eCards, videos, and GIFs. The acquisition also includes the onboarding of key Vouchr employees to facilitate the integration. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
