In February 2025, Plenary PCL Health successfully reached financial close on the Halifax Infirmary P3 project, a significant development within Nova Scotia's Queen Elizabeth II Health Services Centre.
Plenary PCL Health is a consortium comprising Plenary Americas (developer and equity investor), PCL Investments Inc. (equity investor), PCL Constructors Canada Inc. (design-builder), B+H Architects and Arcadis (architects), Johnson Controls (facilities manager), Smith + Andersen (mechanical and electrical consultants), Univex (electrical contractor) and Modern Niagara (mechanical contractor).
The Halifax Infirmary P3 project will deliver a modern acute care tower with 216 beds, 16 operating rooms, an intensive care unit, and a larger emergency department.
Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP represented Plenary PCL Health with a team that included William Buchner and Alex Maly (Infrastructure).
Borden Ladner Gervais advised the project’s grantor, The Province of Nova Scotia.
