DCM Group acquires Metcor Inc. to strengthen aerospace manufacturing capabilities

On June 4, 2025, DCM Group Inc. has acquired Quebec-based Metcor Inc., a leading specialist in metal heat treatment with over 75 years of experience. The transaction supports DCM’s ongoing vertical integration strategy and enhances its position in the Canadian aerospace industry by adding in-house heat treatment and post-processing capabilities. Metcor, known for improving material properties such as hardness, corrosion resistance, and machinability, serves a wide industrial client base with a 54,000-square-foot production facility and a skilled team proficient from raw materials to complex machined parts.

Jean-Charles Raillat, CEO of DCM, emphasized the strategic value of the deal, highlighting it as a significant step in diversifying DCM's offerings and preserving Quebec’s metallurgical expertise under Canadian ownership. The acquisition was supported by Thrust Capital Partners, with Investissement Québec and Desjardins Capital as co-investors. Thrust views the deal as integral to its mission of scaling Quebec aerospace SMEs to global stature.

On the legal and advisory side, DCM was represented by Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP and received tax and financial advice from Ernst & Young LLP. Metcor was advised by Bennett Jones LLP for legal matters and Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton LLP for financial and tax matters. The transaction value was not disclosed. However, the acquisition marks a major milestone in DCM’s growth, expanding its eight-facility network—four in Quebec, three in Ontario, and one in France—and solidifying its reputation as an integrated aerospace manufacturing leader in Canada.
