On June 17, 2022, Victoria Distillers Inc., a renowned Vancouver Island-based producer of Empress 1908 Gin, was acquired by Milestone Brands LLC, a premium spirits company headquartered in Austin, Texas. The acquisition encompassed Victoria Distillers' production facility in Sidney, British Columbia, and a recently established packaging facility in Vancouver. This strategic move aimed to bolster Milestone Brands' portfolio in the super-premium gin segment, leveraging the success of Empress 1908 Gin, which had achieved significant growth in North America. Peter Hunt, founder and President of Victoria Distillers, continued to lead the company post-acquisition.
