On June 9, 2025, Canadian engineering firm AtkinsRéalis Group Inc. (TSX: ATRL) and France's Électricité de France (EDF) announced an expanded global collaboration agreement to enhance their partnership in the nuclear energy sector. This agreement aims to deepen cooperation in areas such as engineering support, equipment provision, operational excellence, installation and commissioning, waste management, and fuel production.

The collaboration seeks to integrate the nuclear industries of Canada and France while preserving each country's proprietary technologies—AtkinsRéalis's CANDU® and EDF's EPR. Both companies will continue to compete independently in reactor technology vendor selection processes where appropriate.
