Pembina Pipeline enters into LPG export agreement with AltaGas

Pembina Pipeline Corporation has entered into a new long-term tolling agreement with AltaGas Ltd. for 30,000 barrels per day (bpd) of liquified petroleum gases (LPG) export capacity at AltaGas’ existing Ridley Island Propane Export Terminal (RIPET) and the future Ridley Island Energy Export Facility (REEF). Under the agreement, Pembina will secure 20,000 bpd beginning in April 2026, with an additional 10,000 bpd commencing in April 2027. The deal provides Pembina with a competitive export outlet, advancing its strategy to diversify end-markets and strengthen connections to premium global destinations. In combination with 20,000 bpd of existing capacity at its Prince Rupert Terminal, Pembina will have 50,000 bpd of total export capacity from Canada’s West Coast, enhancing its ability to supply Asia’s higher-value markets while complementing its North American propane marketing operations.

While no transaction value was disclosed, the agreement underscores the importance of long-term access to international markets for natural gas liquids. Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP acted as legal advisor to Pembina Pipeline Corporation on the agreement. AltaGas did not disclose its external counsel.
