Qualus acquires Wood’s North American T&D engineering business

On August 29, 2025, Qualus Corporation, a prominent power solutions firm, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the North American Transmission and Distribution engineering business (T&D Engineering) of John Wood Group plc. T&D Engineering delivers comprehensive power engineering services in substations, transmission, distribution, and renewable generation across Canada and the U.S. This strategic acquisition will significantly expand Qualus’ presence and client base in Canada, while adding complementary resources in both Canada and the U.S. to meet rising demand for power engineering services. Greg Herasymuik, President and CEO of Qualus, emphasized that the move aligns with the company’s strategy to broaden its geographic reach and resource base in Canada, enhancing its ability to offer end-to-end solutions to a wider clientele. Anne Langmaid, Vice President of T&D Engineering, expressed enthusiasm about joining Qualus, highlighting the professional growth opportunities and expanded solutions for clients. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including the organizational separation of T&D Engineering from Wood.

EFCG acted as financial advisor to Qualus, while EY served as financial advisor to Wood.
