E3 Company acquires Canadian Global to expand drilling automation capabilities

On September 10, 2025, E3 Company, a Kilgore, Texas-based leader in advanced drilling technologies, has announced the strategic acquisition of Calgary-headquartered Canadian Global, an established innovator in top drive systems and drilling technology. The acquisition aligns Canadian Global’s Smart Slide platform with E3’s proprietary RAPTR automation system to deliver enhanced telemetry, automation and data-driven insights to customers across three continents. Canadian Global serves more than 80 active customers and maintains long-term partnerships with over 90% of its competitors through robust inventory and unmatched service capabilities. Its Smart Slide technology, deployed in more than 100 systems worldwide, will be integrated with RAPTR as part of the combined offering. Canadian Global will continue operating under its current name for the time being, with co-founders Cory Connelly and Steve Frost remaining at the helm throughout the integration process. Operations for the combined company will span Canada, the United States, the Middle East and other markets, reinforcing E3’s global commitment to performance, reliability and cutting-edge technology. With no anticipated layoffs and full leadership continuity, the acquisition ensures business continuity for both employees and clients while positioning the combined entity for scalable growth in a competitive energy landscape.
