Bain Capital invests in Montreal's Innocap to accelerate global growth

On October 29, 2025, Bain Capital Tech Opportunities has announced a strategic minority investment in Innocap Investment Management Inc., a Montreal-based Dedicated Managed Account (DMA) platform serving institutional investors in the alternatives space. The investment is intended to support Innocap's next stage of growth and enhance its technology-enabled service model. In conjunction with the announcement, Innocap confirmed that its platform assets have surpassed US$100 billion (approximately C$140 billion), with assets doubling over the past three years.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The deal, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026.

Bain Capital joins existing shareholders including Innocap senior management, La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, BNY, Walter Global Asset Management, BNP Paribas, and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). The investment comes as institutional demand for customized alternative investment solutions continues to grow, with global allocations to alternative assets exceeding US$4.8 trillion (approximately C$6.7 trillion).
