Norway's Flokk acquires Toronto-based Spec Furniture

On April 17, 2026, Flokk, a Norwegian-based global manufacturer of workspace seating and contract furniture solutions, completed its acquisition of Spec Furniture Inc., a Toronto-based Canadian manufacturer of contract furniture. The transaction value was not publicly disclosed. Spec Furniture, founded in 1991, serves four key contract furniture segments across the United States and Canada, namely healthcare, education, corporate, and behavioural health. Prior to the acquisition, Spec was a subsidiary of U.S.-based furniture manufacturer Sauder Manufacturing Co. Following the deal, close to half of Flokk's revenues will be generated in North America, and the transaction marks Flokk's tenth acquisition. Miller Thomson LLP advised Flokk with a team led by Max Spearn and Luigi Valente. Investment banking firm Stump & Co. represented Spec Furniture in the transaction.
