Groupe Snef makes strategic investment in Norda Stelo through engineering subsidiary Ekium

On May 4, 2026, Norda Stelo announced that Groupe Snef, a Marseille, France-based industrial group founded in 1905, had made a strategic investment in the Québec City-based consulting engineering firm through its engineering subsidiary Ekium. The investment positions Norda Stelo as Groupe Snef's North American platform while preserving its independent governance, executive leadership team and Canadian roots. Under the terms of the partnership, Norda Stelo will retain its headquarters in Québec City, its independent board of directors, and its existing executive leadership team led by President and Chief Executive Officer Alex Brisson. Norda Stelo, which employs approximately 900 people, provides engineering and advisory services in Canada and internationally across infrastructure, energy, natural resources, mining, metallurgy and port sectors. Groupe Snef, with more than 120 years of history, operates in engineering and construction management, integration and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems, industrial solutions, and digital technologies through a network of subsidiaries across multiple jurisdictions, including Ekium, which is recognized for its expertise in industrial engineering, electrification, automation and process decarbonization. The combination is intended to expand Norda Stelo's reach into Europe, the Middle East, Australia and Latin America while reinforcing its presence in North America, with a particular focus on supporting clients in asset sustainability and the energy transition. Financial terms of the strategic investment were not publicly disclosed.
