On June 9, 2026, Beacon Software, the Toronto- and San Francisco-headquartered AI-native technology holding company, announced that it had raised US$225 million (approximately C$314 million at the announcement-date exchange rate) in a Series C equity financing. The round was led by General Catalyst, an existing investor, and HarbourVest Partners, a new investor, with participation from Lightspeed, Intrepid Growth Partners, Valiant Peregrine, BDT & MSD Partners' affiliated funds, Journey LP, Sator Grove and other investors.
The Series C brings Beacon's total capital raised to more than US$550 million since its founding in 2024, following a US$250 million Series B announced in November 2025 led by General Catalyst, Lightspeed Venture Partners and D1 Capital at an approximately US$1 billion valuation. According to reporting in The Globe and Mail, the Series C values Beacon at more than US$1.4 billion post-money.
Beacon was founded in 2024 by Nilam Ganenthiran (Founder and CEO, former President of Instacart) and Divya Gupta (Co-Founder and CTO, formerly of Sequoia Capital). The company acquires mission-critical vertical software and services businesses serving "Main Street" industries such as campgrounds, youth sports leagues, manufacturers and unions, and integrates them onto a shared AI-native operating platform. Beacon has acquired approximately 30 businesses to date.
The company intends to use the new funding to further develop its AI-native business operating system and to continue acquiring essential vertical software and services businesses.
