On May 19, 2026, The Canada Life Assurance Company ("Canada Life"), the Winnipeg-headquartered Canadian insurance, wealth management and benefits provider and a subsidiary of Great-West Lifeco Inc. within the Power Corporation of Canada group of companies, announced that it had completed the acquisition of Santé Circle Health Corp. ("Santé Circle Health"), a Canadian provider of disability management and occupational health services. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Santé Circle Health is a specialized provider of disability management and occupational health services, recognized for its capabilities in early intervention, provider integration, care coordination and digital intake, supporting timely recovery and return-to-work outcomes for plan members. The acquisition complements Canada Life's existing disability case management capabilities within its Workplace Benefits and Retirement business and supports Canada Life's strategy to strengthen and modernize its disability offering for group plan sponsors and members.
Following completion of the acquisition, Santé Circle Health will continue to operate as an independent organization, retaining its own leadership team and employees. Canada Life confirmed that the transition will not immediately affect Santé Circle Health's workforce or business relationships. The strategic rationale articulated by Canada Life's Executive Vice-President, Workplace Benefits and Retirement, Julia McGillis, is to improve recovery outcomes and help plan members return to work and daily life with confidence by integrating Santé Circle Health's specialized intervention and digital intake capabilities with Canada Life's broader group benefits platform serving more than 14 million customer relationships across Canada.
