Clio acquires Jurisage to strengthen Canadian legal AI capabilities

On June 10, 2026, Vancouver-based Clio, a global leader in legal AI technology, announced the acquisition of Jurisage, a Toronto-based legal AI and data company. No transaction value was disclosed, and no underwriters, agents, or dealers were involved, as this was a private corporate acquisition. No separate close date was provided; the transaction appears to have been announced and closed concurrently on June 10, 2026.

Jurisage, co-founded in 2016 by Aaron Wenner and Ariel Nacson, is the developer of CiteRight, Canada's leading litigation drafting platform, and maintains one of Canada's most comprehensive AI-ready legal datasets, covering more than 470,000 Canadian cases across 40+ courts, updated daily. Wenner will join Clio as Manager, Canadian Content Strategy. The acquisition gives Clio access to Jurisage's high-quality structured Canadian legal data, enabling Clio to deepen its AI capabilities across the full legal workflow — from research and strategy to document drafting and matter management.

The deal is expected to accelerate the Canadian launch of Clio Work, Clio's AI-powered legal platform, anticipated later in 2026. Clio serves more than 400,000 legal professionals across 130+ countries and has previously surpassed US$500 million (~CAD$697.2 million) in annual recurring revenue, based on a USD/CAD rate of 1.3944 on June 10, 2026.

Clio was advised by Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP. The Osler deal team included Mark Longo, Martin Smith, Ian Nelson, and Alex Pescitelli (Emerging and High Growth Companies); Adam Laroche and Erika Romanow (Privacy); Sam Ip (Technology); Angela Kaiser (Intellectual Property); Shaun Parker and Sneha Ajai (Employment and Labour); Jaclyn Miller (articling student); and Grace Bian (summer student). No legal counsel for Jurisage was identified in the announcement.
