Thomson Reuters sells 51 percent of Global Print business to KKR-advised accounts in approximately US$500 million joint venture

Thomson Reuters Corporation (TSX/Nasdaq: TRI) sold a 51 percent stake in its Global Print business to capital accounts advised by KKR and kept a 49 percent equity interest in the resulting joint venture. The announcement on July 14, 2026 described a definitive agreement under which Thomson Reuters would receive approximately US$500 million in gross proceeds at closing. Thomson Reuters retains the intellectual property and full editorial control of its content. The joint venture holds an exclusive license to distribute that content in print and on ProView, the eBook platform, and pays Thomson Reuters a royalty. Thomson Reuters also provides operational services under a multi-year transition services agreement and agreed to financial support designed to give KKR a minimum return on its equity investment in certain circumstances. The transaction was not subject to a financing condition but required specified regulatory approvals. Thomson Reuters announced on October 1, 2026 that the sale had closed. The business now operates as Westbridge Print, serving legal and tax professionals in 13 countries and providing commercial printing to book publishers, with customers mainly in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
