Jane App acquires Vancouver Health-Tech Startup Ginger Desk

Vancouver-based health clinic software company Jane Software Inc. (operating as Jane App) completed its first publicly disclosed acquisition, acquiring Ginger Desk Inc., also a Vancouver-based startup, in a private transaction. The deal was disclosed publicly on July 22, 2026, when Ginger Desk founder and CEO Dr. Julie Durnan announced via a LinkedIn post that the acquisition had actually closed approximately three months earlier (implying a closing around April 2026, though the precise date is not confirmed in public sources). Jane App provides an online practice-management software platform used by more than 240,000 practitioners, while Ginger Desk offered trained human virtual assistants who manage clinic booking and administrative workflows for health practitioners across North America. Durnan has joined Jane App as its Head of Services following the transaction, and all 53 Ginger Desk team members were retained. The deal comes roughly a year after Jane reportedly approached a $1.8 billion CAD valuation in a secondary financing round. Neither party issued a formal press release; the transaction became public only through Durnan's personal social media announcement, and outlets including BetaKit have stated they contacted Jane App for further comment without receiving additional details as of the time of reporting. No financial terms have been disclosed.
