Alimak Group completes acquisition of Pro-Bel in $200 million transaction

Alimak Group AB, a Sweden-based provider of vertical access and working-at-height solutions, announced on July 16, 2026 that it entered into an agreement to acquire Pro-Bel Group Ltd., a privately held North American provider of suspended access and fall protection solutions headquartered in Ajax, Ontario, near Toronto. Pro-Bel, founded in 1978 by CEO Marc Lebel, began as a high-rise window-cleaning company and grew into a manufacturer of roof anchors and other fall-protection equipment. The company reported revenues of approximately $69 million with earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization of approximately $24 million in its most recent fiscal year. Transaction terms equate to an enterprise value of approximately $200 million on a cash- and debt-free basis, with 88.5 percent of the enterprise value payable on completion and the remainder payable 18 months later. Alimak financed the acquisition through existing credit facilities. Pro-Bel was integrated into Alimak's Facade Access division, consolidated effective July 16, 2026. The acquisition adds a high-margin suspended access business to the Facade Access division and was completed during Alimak's second quarter of 2026. Marc Lebel is remaining with the business through a transition period to support integration and customer continuity. Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP advised Alimak Group on the transaction. Alimak describes the deal as part of its "New Heights" strategy to diversify into the low- and mid-rise building segment while strengthening its North American presence.
