Prima Living, a division of Primacorp Ventures Inc., completed its acquisition of nine seniors housing communities in Ontario from Chartwell Retirement Residences for approximately $117,907,500. Acting through the entity Prima Living Management Limited Partnership, Prima paid cash consideration of $117.91 million toward the assets. The portfolio adds 689 units, bringing Prima Living's total Canadian portfolio to 1,187 suites, a roughly 58 percent increase. Two of the acquired properties are located in Aurora and Whitby, Ontario. Chartwell described the properties as non-core Ontario assets and reported receiving $82.3 million in net proceeds from the sale, after $2 million in transaction costs and the repayment of approximately $33.6 million in mortgages carrying a weighted average interest rate of 3.3 percent and a weighted average term to maturity of 4.3 years. The transaction follows Prima Living's initial Ontario acquisition of a residence in Pickering in March 2025 and its assumption of management of two residences in Oakville and North York in October 2025.
