A consortium of communities from the Ts'elxwéyeqw Tribe, operating through an entity affiliated with Ts'elxwéyeqw Tribe Management Ltd. (the Ts'elxwéyeqw Group), has completed its acquisition of Elements Casino Chilliwack from Great Canadian Entertainment. The transaction closed on July 28, 2026, roughly eight months after the parties entered into a definitive agreement on November 7, 2025. Elements Casino Chilliwack, located in Chilliwack, British Columbia, in the Fraser Valley region, features over 300 slot machines, live and electronic table games, bingo, dining, and live entertainment, and has operated since 2012. The Ts'elxwéyeqw Tribe constitutes seven First Nation communities and is recognized as the First People of the Chilliwack River watershed in the Central Fraser Valley. Ts'elxwéyeqw Tribe Management Ltd. manages the Tribe's partnerships across commercial real estate development, sustainable forestry, environmental stewardship, and energy infrastructure. Chief David Jimmie, Chief of Squiala First Nation and president of Ts'elxwéyeqw Tribe Management Ltd., described the purchase as a milestone extending the group's economic growth into gaming and hospitality. Under the terms of the agreement, Great Canadian Entertainment will continue providing transitional services and support to the Ts'elxwéyeqw Group for a period following closing. The transaction forms part of Great Canadian Entertainment's broader, multi-property program of divesting British Columbia casino assets to First Nations, following prior deals involving properties such as Elements Casino Victoria, Casino Nanaimo, and Great Canadian Casino Vancouver.
