Fastfrate Group announced that it acquired 100 percent of Jardine Transport Group from SeaFort Capital Inc. and certain members of the Jardine Transport Group executive team. The acquisition includes Jardine Transport, R.E.M. Transport, Gil Trucking, Quality Transportation and K&T Transport. Fastfrate Group said the transaction strengthens its position as a Canadian transportation and supply chain provider by expanding its truckload, less-than-truckload, logistics, warehousing and distribution capabilities across key Canadian markets. Jardine Transport Group, headquartered in the Maritimes, operates more than 200 power units and provides flatbed and dry-van transportation services for domestic and cross-border freight movements across a range of industries. Following the acquisition, Jardine Transport Group will continue to operate under its established brands within Fastfrate Group, while maintaining its experienced leadership team and using the scale, resources and complementary services available across the Fastfrate Group family of companies. Ron Tepper, executive chairman of Fastfrate Group, described the transaction as positioning the company to support more efficient coast-to-coast movement of goods. Dion Cull, president of Jardine Transport Group, said the transaction marked a new chapter for the business, its employees and its customers. Loopstra Nixon LLP served as legal counsel to Fastfrate Group.
