Platinum Equity, a Beverly Hills-based private equity firm, made a significant investment in LMPG Inc., formerly Lumenpulse Group Inc., a Montreal-headquartered manufacturer of specification-grade LED lighting solutions for commercial and infrastructure applications across North America. Under the transaction, Platinum Equity acquired the outstanding shares held by LMPG's existing institutional investors, while founder François-Xavier Souvay, W Investments, and president and chief executive officer Peter Timotheatos, together with the management team, rolled over their equity and remained significant shareholders. The party exiting the capital table was Power Corporation of Canada, through its Power Energy Corporation subsidiary, which had joined as a shareholder in LMPG's 2017 take-private transaction that valued the company at roughly $600 million. Founded in 2006, LMPG designs and manufactures lighting luminaires used in urban infrastructure, healthcare, education, and commercial building projects, and operates a portfolio of brands including Lumenpulse, Fluxwerx, Sternberg, Exenia, Pa-Co Lighting, Lumca, ALW, and Vode. The company operates seven manufacturing facilities across Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Italy. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The investment marked Platinum Equity's second transaction in Quebec within 24 months. Timotheatos and the existing leadership team will continue to manage the business following the investment.
