Flyscan Systems announces strategic partnership and minority investment with Forsite

Flyscan Systems Inc. announced a strategic partnership with Forsite on 8 May 2026, including a minority equity investment by Forsite in Flyscan. Flyscan, a Quebec City-based company founded in 2015 as a spin-off from Canada's National Optics Institute, is the first company in the world to enable detection of liquid hydrocarbons and automation of right-of-way visual inspection from aerial patrol planes. Using proprietary remote sensing technology and artificial intelligence, Flyscan helps energy companies and operators of critical pipeline infrastructure protect their assets, the public, and the environment, and it recently introduced the first combined methane and liquid leak detection capability. Forsite, headquartered in Conroe, Texas, is a geospatial intelligence company operating across North America that brings together aerial LiDAR acquisition, pipeline patrol operations, and data management expertise. The partnership combines Flyscan's on-board liquid leak sensing hardware and software with Forsite's patrol operations and data management capabilities to create a unified solution for pipeline operators, integrating proactive leak detection, automated threat detection, geohazard monitoring, and right-of-way management under a single patrol service. The transaction pairs a commercial partnership with Forsite's minority investment in Flyscan. Financial terms of the investment, including the size of the stake and the dollar amount, were not disclosed publicly. Flyscan's existing strategic investor group already includes Marathon Petroleum, Enbridge, Hatch, and Kinder Morgan.
