Eurofins Scientific SE, a Luxembourg-based global leader in bioanalytical testing, has agreed to acquire the North American Life Sciences Testing Services business of Element Materials Technology for an enterprise value of US$400 million. The business being divested provides biopharmaceutical product testing, environmental testing, and food testing services through a network of 27 laboratories and facilities across the United States and Canada. It employs approximately 750 full-time-equivalent staff and is expected to generate annual revenues of more than US$150 million in 2026, with profitability similar to the Eurofins group average. The acquisition expands Eurofins' biopharma and life sciences businesses in North America and extends the geographic reach of its laboratory network into key regions of the United States and Canada, integrating the acquired sites into Eurofins' existing hub-and-spoke network. Element, headquartered in the United Kingdom and owned by Temasek, is divesting the unit as part of a portfolio realignment. Until closing, the North American Life Sciences Testing Services business will continue to operate separately from Eurofins. The transaction is subject to customary conditions, including regulatory approvals, and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.
