Activate Games Inc., the Winnipeg-based active-gaming company, opened its first German location in Berlin, marking its first location in the DACH region under its partnership with VRex Entertainment and Sounds Fun Entertainment. The Berlin venue is located in the Mall of Berlin and includes a 10,097-square-foot experience with 11 game rooms and more than 800 levels of challenges. Activate said its RFID technology tracks players across rooms, allowing guests to level up, unlock achievements and earn rewards while completing physical and mental challenges designed for teams of two to five. 

The August 17, 2026 announcement follows Activate’s November 2024 disclosure of an exclusive DACH-region expansion in collaboration with VRex Entertainment and Sounds Fun Entertainment. The 2024 plan covered Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with the German rollout initially expected to begin with four locations in the first year, followed by five additional locations annually through 2029.

MLT Aikins disclosed that it advised Activate on the cross-border transaction supporting the DACH expansion, providing strategic counsel on international licensing, structuring and commercial terms. The firm identified Caitlin Bouché as leading the matter.
