FortisBC Energy Inc. and FortisBC Inc. completed two Canadian-dollar medium-term note debenture offerings with an aggregate principal amount of $450 million. On August 6, 2026, FortisBC Energy Inc. issued $300 million of 5.168 percent medium-term note debentures maturing on August 6, 2056. On August 13, 2026, FortisBC Inc. issued a further $150 million of 5.369 percent medium-term note debentures maturing on August 13, 2056.
The debentures were sold through a syndicate of investment dealers that included RBC Dominion Securities Inc. and TD Securities Inc. as joint bookrunners. The full membership of the dealer syndicate was not identified in the available law-firm announcement.
The issuers intend to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes, including repaying existing indebtedness, financing their respective capital-expenditure programs and satisfying working-capital requirements. FortisBC Energy Inc. is the group’s regulated natural-gas utility, while FortisBC Inc. operates regulated electricity generation, transmission and distribution assets in the southern interior of British Columbia. Both entities are wholly owned subsidiaries within the Fortis Inc. group.
