Authentic Brands Group completed its acquisition of a majority stake in the intellectual property of October's Very Own, the premium Canadian lifestyle brand co-founded by Aubrey "Drake" Graham, in a transaction announced Aug. 27, 2026. Under the ownership structure, Authentic holds 51 percent of the OVO intellectual property, Drake retains 44 percent, and Vince Holding Corp. (Nasdaq: VNCE) owns 5 percent. Alongside the intellectual property sale, Vince Holding, through subsidiary OWL Opco, acquired OVO's operating business across Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom, and will serve as OVO's core apparel and retail licensee, overseeing design, product development, merchandising, and retail operations globally under a long-term license to the OVO intellectual property. Drake will retain a significant ownership position and continue to shape the brand's creative vision, with OVO's Toronto-based creative and design teams remaining in place. Founded in 2008 by Drake with entrepreneur Oliver El-Khatib and producer Noah "40" Shebib, and led by chief executive officer Derek "Drex" Jancar, OVO offers premium apparel and accessories known for its owl logo and black-and-gold aesthetic, operating 12 flagship stores and a worldwide e-commerce presence. The acquisition gives Vince access to the global streetwear market and the Canadian market, marking the first expansion of its multi-brand platform strategy beyond the Vince brand. The transaction was supported by amendments to Vince's asset-based lending facility and included an additional $6 million minority investment in ABG OVO. Vince expects the deal to be accretive in fiscal 2027.
