Beacon Software acquires Haize Labs

On September 17, 2026, Toronto-based Beacon Software, a holding company that acquires software businesses and equips them with shared artificial intelligence, engineering, product and go-to-market capabilities, announced its acquisition of Haize Labs, a New York-based AI reliability company. Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP's website identifies the firm as having advised Beacon Software on the matter. The Osler team consisted of Chad Bayne, Justin Dharamdial and Mihnea Porime of the firm's Emerging and High Growth Companies group in Toronto, with Bayne named as key contact. No counsel for Haize Labs was identified in company materials, press coverage, or targeted law-firm searches. Haize Labs develops technology that helps other firms stress-test AI agents for real-world deployment. The Haize team is joining Beacon to form an internal Applied AI Research Group, overseen by Haize co-founder and CEO Leonard Tang, who becomes Beacon's vice-president of AI research; co-founder Steve Li is also moving across. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The deal follows Beacon's Series C financing in June 2026, after which it continued making acquisitions at a steady pace, and it now owns 45 portfolio companies.
