Gridiron Capital, LLC, a Connecticut-based investment firm, announced on October 5, 2026 an investment in Weed Man, which the release calls North America's largest lawn care franchisor. Weed Man sells season-long residential lawn care programs built around fertilization and weed control. It was founded in 1970 in Ontario and, according to the release, serves more than 800,000 households across about 1,000 exclusive territories in 39 U.S. states and 10 Canadian provinces, through corporate-owned branches and franchisee-owned locations. Chief Executive Officer Jennifer Lemcke and the existing management team will continue to lead the company. Gridiron links the investment to its Residential Products & Services focus and to past portfolio companies including Leaf Home, Erie Home, Legacy Service Partners, Greenix and GarageCo. Harris Williams served as financial advisor and Ropes & Gray LLP as legal counsel to Gridiron. KPMG Corporate Finance Inc. served as financial advisor and Torys LLP as legal counsel to Weed Man.
