A fund managed by IFM Investors has agreed to acquire the entire 33.9 percent and 30.0 percent stakes held by CPP Investments and OMERS in Associated British Ports (ABP), which IFM describes as the largest ports group in the UK by tonnage. CPP Investments acquired its stake in 2015 and OMERS in 2006. The buyer is Global Infraco Haven Bidco Limited, an indirect subsidiary of the IFM Global Infrastructure Fund. The sellers hold a combined 63.88 percent of ABP (Jersey) Limited and its subsidiaries. Financial terms were not disclosed. The Financial Times reportedly values ABP at more than £10 billion, and Bloomberg cited an anonymous source for a figure of about £10 billion. The parties have not confirmed either figure. The release says ABP operates 19 facilities and handles about 25 percent of UK seaborne trade. The transaction was announced October 21, 2026. It is subject to customary shareholder and regulatory approvals and is expected to complete in the first half of 2027. Other shareholders reportedly include GIC, Kuwait Investment Authority’s Wren House Infrastructure and Federated Hermes.
