Power Sustainable Lios Inc. (“Lios”), the food-focused private equity platform of Power Sustainable, announced on October 22, 2026 that it acquired Fine Choice Foods Ltd., a Richmond, British Columbia manufacturer of refrigerated Asian appetizers sold under the SUMM! brand. The seller was Swander Pace Capital, a U.S. private equity firm that has owned the company since 2018. The Globe and Mail reports that the deal makes Lios the majority owner. Farm Credit Canada, Bonnefield Financial Inc. and members of Fine Choice’s senior management are co-investing. Fine Choice is the fifth investment in Lios Fund I, following Crofter’s Organic. The release says Fine Choice’s existing executive team will continue to lead the business. No financial terms were disclosed in the releases or reporting reviewed. Fine Choice was founded in 1986, operates two manufacturing facilities in British Columbia and sells through club, grocery, foodservice and e-commerce channels. The Lios release describes the investment as part of Power Sustainable’s plan, announced in September, to invest and mobilize more than $10 billion into Canadian projects and companies over the next five years. Swander Pace’s release identifies Stikeman Elliott LLP as legal counsel to Fine Choice Foods and Swander Pace Capital, and BMO Capital Markets Corp. as exclusive financial advisor.
