LaPrairie Works acquires Carwald Redi-Mix's concrete and aggregate operations

LaPrairie Works Inc., a frontrunner in highway and bridge maintenance and civil construction, announced its acquisition of Carwald Redi-Mix's concrete and aggregate operations in Slave Lake and Wabasca, Alberta. The transaction enabled LaPrairie Works to integrate Carwald's high-quality ready-mix concrete, asphalt concrete pavement (ACP), and aggregate products into its offerings through a new division, enhancing its in-house sourcing capabilities for these essential construction materials. Kelly McManus, President of Transportation & Highway Operations at LaPrairie Works, highlighted the strategic fit of Carwald, known for its superior concrete and aggregate supplies, within their operations. The acquisition included Carwald's seasoned team of equipment operators, crushing crew, drivers, and management personnel, with Ken Porisky, Carwald's former owner, joining LaPrairie Works to ensure a smooth transition. McManus emphasized the shared family-owned business values and anticipated future growth and success. Financing was secured through Dynamic Capital Equipment Finance and BMO, with appreciation expressed for their support in facilitating the deal.
