Jonathan Leibtag

Jonathan Leibtag is Assistant General Counsel at Microsoft where he leads a team of high performing attorneys across the Americas advising on complex, strategic commercial transactions that underpin enterprise cloud adoption, AI deployment, and large‑scale digital transformation initiatives. Jonathan also partners with senior leaders across sales, product, business development, engineering, and finance to structure hyperscale cloud and AI agreements, including infrastructure and capacity‑driven arrangements with leading AI model developers and platform partners. His practice focuses on deal strategy, risk management, and enabling business outcomes at scale in highly competitive, fast‑moving, and complex operating environments.

Prior to Microsoft, Jonathan was an M&A and corporate finance lawyer at a prominent Toronto law firm. He holds a law degree from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University, and has taught an MBA course in organizational studies at the Schulich School of Business at York University.
