There’s only one more week to submit your nominations for the 2026 Canadian Law Awards, the event where Lexpert and Canadian Lawyer celebrate the most notable achievements, organizations, and individuals in Canada’s legal industry each year.

Nominations will be accepted across 23 award categories until 11:59 pm EST on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026. Submissions must be made to the Canadian Law Awards website to be considered.

Each year, the Canadian Law Awards team draws on its industry expertise to evaluate nominations using a rigorous, multi-stage process. A shortlist of potential winners – also known as Excellence Awardees – will be announced on Mar. 16.

A shortlist of top deals will be announced separately in April.

An independent panel of judges will then use applicable criteria to score the nominees on each shortlist. The nominees in each category with the highest tallied scores will be announced at an awards gala at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on Tuesday, May 5.
