As an Indigenous rights practitioner born, raised, and based in Victoria, BC, Mack founded and began running Mack Law Corporation in October 2019.
Now, as a part of OKT, she will continue acting for her clients from her current office in Saanichton, BC, situated on W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip First Nation) land.
OKT has offices in Toronto, Ontario, and Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Guirguis explained that Mack “extends our office presence and our ability to grow and continue to serve clients in western Canada.”
More on Mack
OKT’s news release and Mack’s biography on the firm’s website provide more information regarding her professional background and work experience.
Mack has taken on Indigenous clients almost exclusively since commencing her legal practice. She has advised First Nations and Indigenous organizations on complex and day-to-day legal and governance matters.
Specifically, she has helped clients with matters involving jurisdiction, membership, elections, human resources, and governance structures and policies that seek to support self-determination and Nation-building and affirm every Nation’s unique laws, legal traditions, culture, values, and priorities.
According to Guirguis, Mack has garnered “significant experience working in this area of law in a way that is aligned with OKT values and objectives to advance Indigenous sovereignty.”
For First Nations operating under land codes, Mack has assisted with developing, drafting, and implementing land laws across areas such as land use, interests, environmental protection, and regulatory enforcement.
Her assistance has spanned the entire lifecycle of land code implementation, including early scoping, drafting, enactment processes, and the operationalization of land and resource governance systems.
Mack gained admission to the bars in BC in 2007 and in Manitoba in 2024. She earned her LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2006. She is a member of the Toquaht First Nation on the west coast of Vancouver Island.
