Help recognize the legal professionals making their mark on the industry
Canadian Lawyer is now accepting nominations for the 17th annual Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers, celebrating legal professionals whose notable achievements have helped transform the legal landscape over the past 18 months.
The final Top 25 will include five lawyers selected from each of the following categories:
- Human Rights, Advocacy, and Criminal: Lawyers who have advocated for individuals or public interest causes through litigation or public engagement.
- Business: Lawyers who have shaped the marketplace through leadership at business-facing law firms, significant legal work, advocacy for market reforms, or promoting competition. This category covers all aspects of business law, including litigation, major deals, class actions, and law firm leadership.
- In-house: Lawyers working in in-house legal roles.
- Changemakers: Lawyers in any practice who have demonstrated leadership, innovation, or a commitment to driving positive change in areas such as diversity, law firm management, technology, education, and more.
- Government, Non-profits, Associations, and Judiciary: Lawyers serving public institutions, academic bodies, the judiciary, officers of Parliament, or other public inquiries and organizations.
Lawyers who have received this recognition within the past five years are not eligible.
Members of the legal community are encouraged to nominate a colleague or submit a self-nomination.
Submissions are open until Friday, April 17.
Qualifying nominees will advance to a public voting stage, and the results will be reviewed by the editorial board to determine the final Top 25.
The winners will be announced on the website in September.
