Actor Gabriel Macht, who is most well known for playing Harvey Specter in the legal-focused television series “Suits”, has inked a landmark brand partnership deal with artificial intelligence platform Harvey.

This marked the first brand deal of its kind for Harvey, the company said in a press release. The partnership was announced as the company launched its new Instagram account @askharvey on February 17.

Winston Weinberg, Harvey’s CEO and co-founder, highlighted Macht’s impact on the legal profession.

“Gabriel’s legendary performance as a lawyer continues to inspire people to pursue law. To that end, there’s no better spokesperson to support Harvey’s global brand growth and the launch of our Instagram account than Gabriel Macht,” Weinberg said in a statement.

The company has said that Harvey was named for Macht’s “Suits” character. It opened its doors in Toronto last October and was valued at more than $5 billion as of that time.

Harvey has teamed up with LexisNexis, iManage, and NetDocs in developing its suite of tools for attorneys, Harvey president and co-founder Gabe Pereyra told Canadian Lawyer last year.

Macht explained his desire to support “a responsible approach that keeps public interest in view.”

“Harvey’s momentum over the last 3+ years has made it a leading legal AI platform, helping teams change the way they work with AI, faster and with more clarity. I’m grateful to join at this moment, and I'm thrilled to be a part of a company helping so many lawyers and aspiring lawyers change the way they work with Harvey's AI platform,” he said in the press release.

Organizations that have adopted Harvey’s legal AI platform include HSBC, global firm DLA Piper, Australian firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Stinson LLP, Denmark-based firm Kromann Reumert, Greece-based firm Zepos & Yannopoulos, UK firm Burges Salmon, Sweden-headquartered firm Vinge, and offshore firm Harneys.
