Bennett Jones has brought in Leanne Krawchuk, Dean Koumanakos, and Ben Rogers as its new equity partners.

Krawchuk will operate from Edmonton, while Koumanakos and Rogers will work from Montréal and Calgary, respectively. They bolster the firm’s energy, mining, and mergers and acquisitions practices.

Krawchuk has tackled matters involving complex corporate transactions, mining and resources, construction and infrastructure, capital markets, and securities. Koumanakos has handled complex domestic and cross-border transactions involving M&A, buyouts, strategic and private equity investments, corporate finance matters, infrastructure, and insolvency-based restructurings. His clients have included public and private companies, private equity sponsors, financial institutions and investment funds.

He transitions from Stikeman Elliott, where he led the London office as managing partner for over seven years. He is a Lexpert-ranked lawyer in the areas of corporate mid-market and private equity.

Rogers has tackled acquisitions and divestitures, M&A, joint venture agreement structuring, midstream matters, and project development. He previously headed up Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP’s Calgary office as managing partner and co-led its energy group, according to LinkedIn.

He is a Lexpert-ranked lawyer in corporate commercial law, energy (oil and gas), and M&A.

Chief executive officer Dominique T. Hussey highlighted Krawchuk, Koumanakos, and Rogers’ leadership experience and industry expertise. Bennett Jones board and executive chair John M. Mercury said in a statement that energy, mining, and M&A formed “an essential part of the firm's DNA.”
