Sodavex partners Christine Duchaine and Yves Dulude will become partner and counsel, respectively
Seven lawyers from boutique law firm Sodavex. Including two partners, are set to move to Miller Thomson’s Montréal branch.
Christine Duchaine will commence with Miller Thomson as a litigation partner, while Yves Dulude will become a counsel. Joining them are five associates: Johanna Barrière, Annabelle Marcotte, Thierry Méance, Samuel Rousseau-Mascolo, and Laurence Simard.
The president and founder of Sodavex, Duchaine has practised in environmental law for over 35 years. She has worked on significant transactions and litigation impacting the environmental and administrative law in Quebec.
She has tackled matters involving expropriation, waste management, land rehabilitation, energy production, mining, environmental assessment and authorizations, urban planning, and real estate development. She was among the Lexpert-ranked lawyers in the 2025 Lexpert Special Edition on Canada’s Leading Energy Lawyers.
Before establishing Sodavex, Duchaine recorded stints with BLG Canada and Stikeman Elliot, per LinkedIn.
Dulude has handled administrative, commercial, and real estate law concerns for over 35 years. He has worked with Crown corporations, oil and mining companies, insurers, and real estate owners.
He has been involved in urgent proceedings and negotiated Indigenous claims. He is an expert on natural environment matters, with a particular interest in the water sector.

Adam Stephens, the firm’s disputes chair, added that the Sodavex team would bolster Miller Thomson’s ability to handle complex environmental issues and support clients in regulatory changes.
The Sodavex team will officially join Miller Thomson on September 2. The lawyers will be part of the environmental law group.
