The AI company’s new Asia-Pacific office opens in June
Legal-focused artificial intelligence company Harvey is set to open a new office in Singapore this June.
This will be the company’s third office in the Asia-Pacific region after it established its presence in Sydney and Bengaluru. The company indicated that it decided to set its next base in Singapore because of the “outsized” role the country played in global commerce and its designation as a highly innovative market.
In a statement, Harvey described Singapore as “a centre for cross-border transactions, disputes, finance, and technology — and a meeting point for legal work that spans jurisdictions.”
“APAC is a major growth engine for us, and Singapore sits at the intersection of legal, financial, and tech innovation. It consistently ranks among the most innovative economies in the world, which is a testament to its forward-thinking business environment and deep commitment to technology and legal-tech adoption,” CEO and co-founder Winston Weinberg said in a statement.
WongPartnership LLP was Harvey’s first customer in Southeast Asia; since then, the company’s has counted law firms Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP, Drew & Napier LLC, Braddell Brothers LLP, Lee & Lee, Oon & Bazul LLP, and TSMP Law Corporation in its client base. PwC and the Singapore judiciary have teamed up with Harvey as well.
“We’re seeing strong momentum from customers across the region adopting AI in real workflows. Being here allows us to partner more deeply with legal teams as they scale Harvey across offices and across borders,” said John Haddock, Harvey’s chief business officer, in a statement.
The company said the Singapore office would include legal engineering, customer success, sales, and G&A roles.
“As more firms and in-house teams across APAC leverage AI to transform the way they work, we’re investing locally to support that shift,” Harvey said.
Last month, the company launched its Instagram account @askharvey and announced a landmark brand partnership deal with Hollywood actor Gabriel Macht.
