Chief Judge Melissa Gillespie has announced that BC’s lieutenant governor has signed orders in council appointing Tina-Marie Bradford as a judge of the Provincial Court of British Columbia, to be sworn in on Feb. 9, 2026.

The court’s news release noted that the judiciary has assigned Bradford to the Interior region, with chambers in Penticton.

According to a news release from the BC attorney general, Bradford’s judicial appointment will fill the vacancy arising from the elevation of a Provincial Court judge to the Supreme Court of British Columbia.

The BC attorney general explained that Bradford’s addition aims to:

  • Promote speedy and efficient access to justice
  • Equip courts with the necessary judicial resources
  • Strengthen the justice system
  • Rise to the justice system’s demands
  • Serve British Columbians

The BC attorney general highlighted that Bradford’s appointment is the third in the past two months, following the additions of Judge Michael Lefebure – assigned to the Fraser region, with chambers in Chilliwack – and Judge Christina Proteau – assigned to the Vancouver Island region, with chambers in Nanaimo – last December.

Before that, in November 2025, the Provincial Court announced the appointments of:

  • Judge Diba Majzub, assigned to the Fraser region, with chambers in Port Coquitlam
  • Judge Megan Olson, assigned to the Northern region, with chambers in Smithers
  • Judicial Justices Janine Main and Joanna Nefs, assigned to the Justice Centre and the traffic division
